Core Tip: This could be the best thing Taco Bell's come up with in, well...forever?
Doritos TacosThis could be the best thing Taco Bell's come up with in, well...forever? Now beginning to utilize the full potential of its brand-sweeping dominance, the Yum! Corporation meshed Taco Bell with Doritos. A while ago, they began establishing joint Pizza Hut and Taco Bell shops. Now Doritos furthers the cross-pollination, and not a minute too early.

Taco Bell was stagnating, to put it gently: its once sinfully low prices gradually crept up while the menu remained the same. And in the fast food world, the only more heinous crime after taxation without representation is inflation without diversification.

With this new invention, the shell becomes so much more than a container – a flavor wrapping, and encasement of taste. Take away the grotesquely gratuitous amount of sour cream, and a simple taco could rise to untold heights. The Bell may lack the equivalent of french fries, but at least now they have something roughly equivalent to a signature sandwich.

Think about it, “I can't wait to go to Taco Bell and get nice, tasty...” what? Burrito? Quaesadilla? Those sound bland and generic. Taco Bell's not exactly the customizing, mix and match style of location, so where's the iconic creation? The one to transcend generations?

With some tweaking, the Doritos taco could do just that. Taco Bell needs something to hang its hat on beyond lots of beef and cheese for real cheap. Something to instill brand loyalty. Something to stand proud against the newly established 'W' and legacies of the Big 3. So take the DT, reboot it bigger and better, and then present.
