Indian franchisee of fastfood chain McDonald's, Hardcastle Restaurants, has introduced the e-payment option at all 150 outlets that it operates across West and South India to increase payment options for its customers.
The new option will ease the delivery service at the outlets enabling payments with debit, credit and prepaid card, reported Business Line.
Commenting on the new initiative, Hardcastle Restaurants vice-chairman Amit Jatia remarked that the fast turnaround of the customers and lower cash handling time are of utmost importance for a quick service restaurant chain such as McDonalds.
"The solution has helped significantly reduce our order processing time to 5-10 seconds approximately," said Jatia.
Visa group country manager weighed in saying the move was another example of India's shift towards a cashless society.
