Desmet Ballestra has signed an agreement with a refinery in Ecuador to install oil refining and processing equipment developed by Cavitation Technologies (CTI).

The NanoNeutralization equipment is expected to process 350 tons of soybean oil per day, according to the company.

Desmet Ballestra is a strategic partner of CTI since 2010 and the licensee of the company's vegetable oil refining technology.

CTI's principal executive officer Igor Gorodnitsky said that the company's NanoNeutralization process improves oil yields, slashes production costs and mitigates the environmental impact in edible oil refining.

"Our technology can further optimize current methods of vegetable oil refining and processing," Gorodnitsky added.

CTI, founded in 2007, designs and manufactures devices and systems and develops processing technologies for use in edible oil refining, algal oil extraction, alcoholic beverage enhancement and water treatment.
