Glenmorangie Distillery, a Scotland-based single malt Scotch whiskey producer, has added Glenmorangie Ealanta 19yo expression to its Private Edition range.
Matured in virgin American white oak casks made from woods of Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri, the 46% ABV Glenmorangie Ealanta is non chill-filtered and possesses aroma of soft toffee, butterscotch and vanilla with strong hints of stewed fruits and menthol notes.
The Scotch whiskey has candied orange peel, sugar coated almonds and sweet vanilla taste on the palate with finish of virgin oak derived spices like clove, ginger and hint of aniseed.
Glenmorangie US vice president Brian Cox said the whiskey gets its good quality from the woods of casks used for maturing the whiskey.
"Dr. Lumsden and his team's uncompromising attention to detail has produced an exceptional body of tastes that will surely please even the most ardent whisky connoisseur," he added.
The distillery has produced only 1,500 9l cases of the 19yo expression for the US.
Glenmorangie Ealanta is the 2013 edition of the Private Edition range, which consists of limited edition whiskies such as Sonnalta PX, Finealta and Artein.
