Authorities in China's southwestern Yunnan province said Coca-Cola employees used hand-held GPS devices to collect the information, according to a news article posted on a provincial-government website.

The article said Coca-Cola's was one of 21 similar cases against companies. The article was dated Feb. 28 but received coverage in recent days by Chinese media.

Coca-Cola said it has used location-based services in recent years to improve customer service and improve fuel
