The PPCoca-Cola MA Show, the UK’s premier free-to-attend complete production line event for processing and packaging machinery, has announced that Coca-Cola Enterprises and Marks & Spencer will join this year’s seminar line-up to deliver exclusive presentations on sustainability and consumer packaging.

Taking the stage on the second day of the exhibition Coca-Cola Enterprises’ Ian Barnett will present ‘Behind the Bottle – How Coca-Cola Enterprises is embedding sustainability into its business’. The session will explore how the FMCG giant became a leader in sustainability, committed to building a low carbon, zero waste business, by reducing site waste water by 70% and energy consumption by 40%. Ian will also provide insight into Coca-Cola Enterprises’ Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS) Programme.

Kevin Vyse, Packaging technologist at M&S, will also be presenting Adapt or Die – The evolution of consumer packaging which explores how the global consumer and lifestyle changes are going to impact packaging solutions. The presentation will also look at how environmental concerns and evolving supply chains are shaping product and packaging development, and how businesses will have to adapt in order to survive.

Speaking about the seminar programme, Grant Collier, Head of Marketing for the PPMA Group, said: “Ian and Kevin are widely known throughout the industry for their expertise and knowledge. I have no doubt their presentations will provide valuable insight regarding the direction the packaging industry will take during the next few years.”

Speaking about his involvement at the PPMA Show, Kevin Vyse said: “The PPMA Show brings leading experts from across the manufacturing sector together to discuss the latest issues impacting the industry. I’m very much looking forward to taking to the stage in the seminar theatre to talk about the evolution of consumer packaging and I do hope that my presentation sparks a healthy debate amongst attendees at the NEC.”

Ian and Kevin join the exciting seminar speakers already confirmed for this year’s show, which includes supermarket ombudsman Christine Tacon and former cabinet member Michael Portillo, who will provide the opening presentation in the seminar theatre.
