UK-based retailer Asda is recalling its own-brand Tomato and Onion Dip as some of the packs may contain a Raita product that contains milk and egg, which are not mentioned on the product label.

According to the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA), the product being recalled is Asda Tomato and Onion Dip, 70g, and it bears use by date of 22 April 2013.

Asda has withdrawn the above date code from sale. The company has displayed customer notices in stores, explaining its customers the reason behind the recall.

In addition, it has contacted the relevant allergy support organizations which will inform members who are intolerant of or allergic to peanuts and walnuts about the withdrawal. No other Asda products are known to be affected.

Customers intolerant to egg or milk and milk constituents are advised not to consume the recalled product and return it to the Asda store for a full refund.
