Chilli, turmeric rates weaken on subdued demand

Red chilli and turmeric prices declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 6,600-11,900 and Rs 7,600-13,500 per quintal, respectively.

Market participants said subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficent stocks mainly pulled down the chilli and turmeric prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

The following are today’s quotations per quintal: Ajwain 10,500-17,000, black pepper (per kg) 340-460, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 930-980 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,000-1,080.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 680-800, cardamom (colour robin) 650-780, cardamom bold 680-730, cardamom extra (bold) 850-980 and cloves (kg) 620-740.
