Icelandic Group has announced a revamping of the management structure of its U.K. businesses, a move that includes removing Anita Barker, managing director of Coldwater Seafood.
The company announced today that it was combining the management of Seachill, Coldwater, and Icelandic UK, saying in its announcement, “it is essential that the UK activities are strategically aligned and coordinated as one.”
Seachill’s former managing director, Malcolm Eley, will now be CEO of Icelandic Grimsby UK. The company also named Magni Thor Geirsson as managing director of procurement and deputy for the combined business.
The company’s announcement indicated that the changes are on a management level, and they would not affect the company’s 1,500 employees, but Barker, who has been with Coldwater since 2006, will be leaving the company. Barker will be kept on in an advisory role to the CEO, the company said.
“I’d like to thank Anita Barker for her hard work and tenacity in developing the Coldwater business over the past few years; she has been a valuable member of the IGUK team in developing the new strategy,” said Magnus Bjarnason, president and CEO of Icelandic Group.
