Icelandic Group on Wednesday announced it will rename its U.K. and Belgium divisions.
The U.K. arm will be renamed Icelandic Seachill. Effective 21 October, Seachill, Coldwater and Icelandic UK trading names will cease to exist, as they become part of a united Icelandic Seachill organization.
The three factories that employ more than 1,500 staff will continue to operate as distinct manufacturing units. The three Grimsby sites will be renamed with distinct sector focus “Chilled,” “Coated” and “Meals.” The former East Site (now Coated) will become the new Icelandic Seachill head office.
“Icelandic Group has decided to rename their three U.K. operating divisions in recognition that we are now one united business with one combined voice in the market,” said Malcolm Eley Icelandic Seachill CEO. “Our ambition is for Icelandic Seachill to have a unified operating model which will see benefits across the business in terms of supply, sales and production.”
The company’s Belgium branch will be renamed from Gadus to Icelandic Gadus.
Both renamed divisions will be under a new consistent company logo that is in line with the Iceland logo.
“The renaming of Gadus and our U.K. businesses underlines the emphasis we place on a more united and collaborative business model to further build on the success we have enjoyed. Our new vision, experienced staff and our unique access to quality fish from sustainable resources will result in higher customer satisfaction,” said Magnus Bjarnason, Icelandic president and CEO.
