Core Tip: Retarder has created modified atmosphere bags, a new technology to store and transport fruit and vegetables.
packagingRetarder, a Piedmontese company supplying packaging and technological tools to store and extend the shelf-life of produce, has created modified atmosphere bags, a new technology to store and transport fruit and vegetables.

"MAP Retarder bags create and efficient modified atmosphere system, composed of an ideal combination of oxygen, carbon dioxide and ethylene. Each product will have the perfect atmosphere to preserve its freshness, preventing pathogens from developing and extending its shelf-life as a result. This way, in fact, respiration is reduced, so ripening slows down."

How to use modified atmosphere Retarder bags:
• the product must be chilled before placing it into bags;
• the product must be dry before packaging;
• let the air out after having placed the product inside and close the bag using the specific band;
• after closing the bag, store the produce at the ideal temperature depending on the type of product.
