Carrefour China opened its fourth A-level lab for food safety on May 22.
The lab, in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, will release the food testing results to the public regularly to guarantee food safety.
The 5-million-yuan ($815,000) lab is capable of detecting 46 different pesticides and additives in more than 65 kinds of food and vegetables, meat and fish.
Carrefour promised to withdraw unqualified products, inform the supplier and report the action to the local government as soon as possible.
Carrefour China’s other three A-level laboratories for food safety are in Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing.
