Ashland Performance Materials is set to unveil flexible food packaging adhesives at the ChinaPlas in Guangzhou, China, the Asia's International Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair event being held from 20 – 23 May 2013.

The company will showcase its products such as Purelam 6000/6050 2-component solvent-free urethane adhesive and Purelam Fastcure 2-component urethane adhesives.

According to Ashland, both the products provide technologies that will help create packaging solutions compliant in high-risk applications.

Ashland Performance Materials Asia Pacific packaging and converting commercial manager Max Li said the company sees an increasing demand for packaged food such as microwaveable meals and frozen foods in China's market.

"Ashland's provides high performance adhesives, coatings and primers that are designed and proven to meet the needs of the flexible food packaging industry," Li said.

Ashland noted that its solvent-free laminating adhesives meet with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for various end-use products including hot-fill and cook-in-bag applications.
