Rexam Beverage Can plans to expand capacity at its Fremont manufacturing facility in Ohio, US, by investing $3m, to facilitate relocation of a production line from Chicago.
Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation along with Fremont city have extended support to the beverage can maker with the project, reported Area Development Online.
Besides the Ohio project, Rexam has expanded its manufacturing operations across the globe in 2013.
The UK-based company began production at its new beverage can plant in Benevides, Brazil in May 2013. It has a capacity to produce 800 million cans a year.
The packaging giant has also opened its manufacturing plant in Mäntsälä, southern Finland on 30 January 2013 to produce 330ml and 500ml aluminum cans. It represents an investment of £68m over the next three years.
Rexam has announced plans to construct a new beverage can plant in Widnau, Switzerland, in February 2013, to meet the demand for energy drinks. It represents an investment of £115m over three years.
