Day-Lee Foods Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Meat Packers Inc. and a manufacturer of frozen Asian foods, has announced the hiring of Mike Keeland as general manager of the processed foods division, David Weinberg as marketing director, and Gus Lopez as director of logistics.

The company’s new leadership team was created as part of a comprehensive expansion strategy and calculated-realignment for aggressive annual growth for Day-Lee Foods and its Crazy Cuizine and Day-Lee Pride brands.

“The new leadership team at Day-Lee Foods brings a wealth of industry expertise and knowledge to the table, which positions us well to drive the company as a forward-thinking and trailblazing brand when it comes to frozen Asian cuisine in the U.S.,” said Keeland. “This is an extremely exciting time for the company, and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to further develop our brands and launch delicious new innovations for the consumer market.”

Keeland has more than 30 years of food industry experience and will lead all day-to-day operations, business strategy and sales management. Prior to joining Day-Lee Foods, Keeland served in leadership positions at Real Mex Foods and Annie Chun’s, and held sales and marketing roles at Pinnacle Foods and Campbell Soup Company.

Weinberg brings more than 20 years of brand-development experience to Day-Lee Foods where he’s responsible for spearheading all communications and marketing strategy, new product development and growth initiatives for the company.

In his new position as director of logistics, Lopez oversees the shipping and storage of all Day-Lee Foods products from the company’s award-winning state-of-the-art facility in southern California.
