Many of Taco Bell's offerings are not meant to be healthy (think Doritos Locos Tacos), but now the chain is hoping to appeal to its current clientele with protein-heavy options that are also lower in calories.
According to the Associated Press, the fast-food maven will test a "Power Protein" menu starting July 25th at 40 locations in Dayton, Ohio. All of the offerings will have double the amount of meat (20 grams of protein) and will also fall under 450 calories.
Taco Bell expects the new items will do well with young men, but will also attract women. If the testing phase is successful, CEO Greg Creed is, "looking to put it on the 2014 calendar."
