Dopff & Irion, a France-based winery, is set to bring its Double Impact wine to the UK.
Made in a region that is traditionally known for growing single varietals wines, Double Impact is a blend of 45-55% Riesling and Pinot Gris.
Dopff & Irion managing director Frédéric Raynaud was quoted by Harpers as saying that Alsace winemakers need to ensure they stay relevant in today's marketplace and appeal to contemporary wine drinkers.
"We have purposefully designed distinctive and modern packaging for this wine, which is aimed at 25 to 35 year olds," Raynaud added.
"Dopff & Irion has always been a pioneer of modern methods and approaches, and Double Impact is a wine produced in accordance with this spirit.
"The production of varietal wines is in fact a relatively modern development in the history of Alsace, and by blending the fresh and mineral Riesling with the rounder, fuller Pinot Gris we have created a harmonious wine of exceptional balance and finesse."
The wine pairs well with spicy Asian cuisines and is housed in a misty blue colored glass bottle.
In the UK, the Double Impact wine will be distributed by Bellwether Wines.
