Australian Beverage Holdings plans to off-load its bottled water unit Noble Beverages, which has been providing Pureau brand of drinking water to Australian households since 1987, for approximately A$12m ($11.05m).
Private equity firm Hawkesbridge Capital, which owns a majority stake in the bottled water producer, is said to be handling the transaction.
Coles and Woolworths, as well as the Metcash-operated IGA grocery stores distribute Noble's drinking water.
The company claims that Pureau is 100% guaranteed to be completely free of chlorine, bacteria, fluoride, sodium and other impurities that are so prevalent in both tap and bottled water.
Noble uses a proprietary three-stage filtration method - Pureau Process - for its bottled water brand.
Pureau is currently available in several formats, including 10l cask, 5l cask, 2l bottle, 4 x 2l bottle pack, 600ml bottle and 6 x 600ml bottle.
