Quantum Foods LLC, a custom provider of value-added proteins, announced it has appointed John Morrissey as executive vice president, Sales and Marketing and Herman Brons as chief financial officer to its executive leadership team.

“Perhaps the most essential element of preparing an organization for the future is leadership”

For seven years, Morrissey held various executive positions with Cargill Inc., most recently as vice president, National Accounts Sales. Morrissey has over 25 years of sales experience in all segments of the food industry, including previous positions with Unilever, ConAgra Foods and Sara Lee.

Brons held increasing levels of responsibility in his 17 years with CSM, including CFO of significant operating divisions in the United States. CSM is the leading player in its sectors worldwide of bakery products, bio-based food ingredients and bio-chemicals. Prior to CSM, Brons worked for eight years as an auditor at KPMG in New York and the Netherlands.

Morrissey and Brons will report to Peter Brown, president, as part of the enhanced leadership team built and led by Edward B. Bleka, chief executive officer, founder and sole owner of Quantum Foods.

“I envisioned putting together a world-class executive leadership team to drive Quantum Foods to its next level of growth and I’m excited about having this senior management team in place now,” Bleka said. Founded with an entrepreneurial spirit and the principle of customer focus, Quantum Foods has changed dynamically over the more than 20 years since it was founded. More than half its business is fully-cooked and ready-to-eat products.

“We need to seize the opportunity to innovate and delight our customers everyday with the highest standard of quality and safety in the marketplace and this team will achieve that,” Bleka added. “Perhaps the most essential element of preparing an organization for the future is leadership,” said Brown. “Assembling a world-class team with the ability to mentor and lead our stakeholders into the robust growth ambitions of the organization has been a primary focus. Now, together, we move this business into the next chapter of its fine history,” added Brown.
