The Harborfront Inn, a luxury hotel in Greenport, Long Island of New York, has entered into wine business by opening a new winery - Kontokosta Winery.
Claimed to be the first Long Island vineyard overlooking the Long Island Sound, Kontokosta Winery is built on a 62 acres site in Greenport.
The new winery is designed to depict the 19th century New England barn and features a tasting room and winemaking facility.
It offers several different varietals including Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.
All the wines, which are being produced since 2006, will be sold from the winery only, claims the company.
The Harborfront Inn operations manager Jacqueline Dube said they are excited about the opening of Kontokosta Winery.
"It brings a new energy to the Greenport area, and we're delighted that it offers such unique views of the water," Dube added.
"We invite everyone to come for a tasting this summer - the views are amazing and the wine is even better."
