McWilliam’s Wine, an Australia-based winery, has selected Stevens Garnier, a brand agency house and distributor to the on- and off-trade markets, as its new agent in the UK.
Under the deal, Stevens will represent McWilliam's premium range of brands including Evans & Tate from Margaret River, Brand's Laira from Coonawarra and Mount Pleasant from the Hunter Valley in the UK.
In 2011, Stevens Garnier was acquired by a Portugal-based winery Sogrape.
McWilliam's has long relationship with Sogrape as it distributes Sogrape's Mateus Rose brand throughout Australasia.
McWilliam's Wine export director Lloyd Stephens was quoted by Harpers as saying that the partnership is really rooted in the relationship that McWilliam's has had with Sogrape.
"We have been with them for over 15 years," he added.
"It is the best of the old and the new. Stevens Garnier has some new management, but also has a great reputation and track record in the UK - and now the backing of Sogrape."
