UK-based pasta producer Ugo Foods has unveiled new raviolis range - Olde English, Nordic Delight and White Chocolate & Cranberry.
The Olde English features pear, stilton and pinenuts; Nordic Delight has beetroot, cream cheese and smoked salmon; and White Chocolate & Cranberry. Dell'Ugo's product range is available at Ocado and Waitrose stores across the nation.
The new varieties are the winning entries from the company's 'Design Your Own' competition which offered the general public an aopportunity to design their own ravioli filling and have their recipe packed into Dell'Ugo's free-range egg pasta.
Dell'Ugo received over 100 entries of which the popular entries included meat i.e. chorizo, bacon, Asian-style fish combinations - crayfish, crab; and those with traditional English ingredients using cheddar cheese, sausage and black pudding.
Dell'Ugo marketing head Helena Jevons said that the consumers are seeking something new and different which tantalizes the taste buds.
"The results are also indicative of how emerging trends are influencing consumers today - including sweet/savoury, where sweetness is balanced with bitterness to give multi-dimensional flavours; authenticity and home-cooking; and the hot and spicy flavours from Thai cuisine," Jevons added.
The winners of the competition are Patricia Moroney from Painswick, Gloucestershire, Georgina Stevens from North London and Emma Brooks from Northampton.
