K’s manufacturer of chilled pasta, has brought another first to the chilled pasta category in partnership with Waitrose –Fresh Spinach Gnocchi.Unlike most gnocchi recipes, which are made with dried potato flakes, Dell’Ugo’s Fresh Spinach Gnocchi uses fresh potatoes, giving it a more authentic flavour and homemade feel.
This is the fourth in a line of new products that Dell’Ugo has launched already cementing its position as a pioneer in the fresh pasta sector.
The Fresh Spinach Gnocchi was developed following the success of Dell’Ugo’s plain Fresh Gnocchi.
The pillows of freshly steamed potato, spinach and free-range egg are designed to appeal for a quick and light meal or as a meal accompaniment.
It presented in a 350g pack that serves two.
Chairman and third generation family member, Paul Ugo said:
“The overwhelming positive response we have had to our plain Fresh Gnocchi showed us that consumers are keen for authentic quality products.
“We developed this second variant, to offer our customers a new combination of flavours with the same authentic quality recipe.”
This pasta was created by the team at Ugo, headed up by award winning Steve Walpole, (Executive Head Development Chef at Ugo Foods Group).
Steve is also a regular judge at several industry awards and events, including The Annual Awards of Excellence and The Quality Food Awards.
Dell’Ugo is the UK’s largest fresh pasta brand and has been making pasta since 1929, based on traditional Italian family recipes.
The Fresh Spinach Gnocchi is available now at Waitrose and later this month at Ocado priced at £1.99.
