Rasna International, an Indian manufacturer, marketer and exporter of instant drink powders and soft drink concentrates, is gearing up to establish a juice bottling plant in India with an investment of INR600m ($10.1m).
The move forms part of the juice maker's strategy to generate sales of INR5bn ($84.6m) in the next five years.
Rasna International beverage division CEO and president Arshad Siddiqui said that the company is in the process finding land for the facility in northern region.
"The new unit will involve minimum investment of Rs 60 crore and it will come up next year," Siddiqui added.
Rasna has recently forayed into the ready-to-drink beverage segment with the launch of a new juice line. The juices are available in 250ml and 1l packs in mango, orange, apple and mixed variants.
The company is sourcing these juices from three plants located in Pune, Faridabad and Gujarat, which have a combined capacity of 1.80l per minute, under contract manufacturing.
Rasna plans to expand the availability of these new range of juices across Northern India, including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, along with some parts of the Western region during the current fiscal.
