People with allergies to wheat or sulphites are being warned not to eat certain marinated, top-sirloin steak products, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
CFIA said Western Family brand marinated, top-beef sirloin steak in a teriyaki marinade may contain wheat and sulphites that are not declared on the label. The product was distributed in Alberta and British Columbia; no illnesses have been reported in connection to the affected product.
Vantage Foods (BC) Inc., Chilliwack, British Columbia, is voluntarily recalling the affected product, and CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
