With a capacity of receiving 40 sacks of milk powder of 25kg each, the container will pack the milk powder, delivered by the Danish powder plant Arla Foods Akafa, using a packing facility machine.
These packets contain 25g of milk powder to make a glass of milk.
The dairy co-operative will send the mobile plant from Denmark to the Ivory Coast in August 2013. The new mobile facility is expected to commence operations from 1 October 2013.
Arla will sell its milk powder in small consumer friendly packages in collaboration with a local partner in the city of Abidjan
Arla Foods global packaging manager Bent Strandfelt said that to test new markets the company's production should be close to the market.
"With the new mobile packaging facility we don't have to build a permanent facility straight away," Strandfelt added.
Arla Foods UK, meanwhile, plans to shut its dairy and distribution facility at Ashby-de-la-Zouch in April 2014, as the 1 billion liter fresh milk processing facility at the Arla Foods Aylesbury Dairy is nearing completion.
Production at this plant will be transferred to the new dairy in Aylesbury in October 2013. The closure will result in the loss of 370 jobs.
