New York-based Heart of Tea has announced that it will be available, starting in August, at more than 180 locations of drug chain Duane Reade.
Heart of Tea is available in four flavors: Peach, Pomegranate-Orange, Lemon and Victorian.
Heart of Tea is the latest entry into the bottled iced tea market. The difference, the company says, is "flavor, authenticity and history." Heart of Tea, founder Messi Gerami says, is all-natural and places an emphasis on higher quality tea leaves and natural tea flavor rather than pronounced sweetness, fruit or citrus. The result is a truer tea flavor that isn’t overwhelmed by obvious added sugars or flavors. Gerami has a long, family history in the tea business: His great grandfather was a tea farmer and exporter, as were his grandfather and parents. Heart of Tea was started in New York City and is produced locally.
