Emperador International, a member of Alliance Global Group, has set aside PHP5.8bn ($133m) to invest in Spain over the next 12 months as part of plans to grow globally.
Spain-based Bodega San Bruno and Grupo Emperador Spain, which are owned by Emperador, have already invested a part of the total investment in the country.
The brandy maker will purchase more vineyards and other brandy production facilities, including distilling and bottling plants during the next phase of this investment.
Emperador International managing director Jorge Domecq Bohórquez said that they have finished first phase of acquisition including, sizable inventory of a well-matured brandy along with 509 hectares of prime vineyard land in Toledo, Spain.
"Our next steps forward will further strengthen our position as the world's No. 1 brandy company by volume, and make us exceptionally competitive as a global brandy producer," Domecq added.
The brandy maker also plans to enter into other Asian markets like China and Vietnam for its new offering.
Emperador currently produces and sells Emperador, Generoso and Emperador Light brandies and a line of flavored alcoholic beverages - The Bar.
