Emperador Distillers, the Philippines-based hard liquor unit of Alliance Global Group, is in talks with United Spirits to purchase the latter's Whyte and Mackay spirits business in the UK.
The proposed transaction is expected to be valued at around $675m, reports Bloomberg.
However, the company has not entered into any agreement to this effect.
Diageo, the owner of United Spirits, joined forces with Emperador in March to bring its alcoholic beverages to the Philippines.
Emperador Distillers had acquired Biñan, Laguna production facility from Diageo's Philippine unit in 2012, through which it is planning to ramp up production capacity.
It has allocated PHP4bn ($89.9m) to invest in the expansion of its local bottling facility, in a move to increase the production capacity.
Emperador has also invested PHP5.8bn( $130.3m) in vineyards, distilleries and bodegas in Spain, as well as purchasing Spanish brandy company San Bruno.
