Cloetta, a Swedish confectionery firm, formerly Leaf UK, has appointed Kimm & Miller and Hachette Partworks as its first two licensing partners for its British confectionery brand Chewits.

The development marks the launch of a strategic licensing program designed by Chewits' exclusive brand licensing agency Beanstalk.

Kimm & Miller will be responsible to develop gift and gift-set items, which will be co-packed with the Chewits confectionery product, such as the brand's packaging and advertising imagery.

Hachette Partworks will design Chewits edition of 30 Best Loved Recipes book series which enables consumers to transform their favorites food and confectionery products into easy-to-make dishes.

Cloetta is set to launch an exclusive range of products in the UK for Christmas this year with a major roll-out in 2014.

Cloetta UK consumer marketing manager Hollie Kozakiewicz said, "The gift ranges give our fans the opportunity to share their favourite confectionery brand with family and friends, and we are especially excited about some of the sets featuring original Chewits sweets which tap into the current trend for nostalgia."

Beanstalk Europe & Asia Pacific president Ciarán Coyle said, The new licensed extensions will offer Chewits fans the opportunity to experience the brand in new and creative formats."

Launched in 1965, Chewits is a well known chewy sweet brand, and its chewy stick packs are available in eight flavors, including two Chewits Xtreme sour variants.
