The Austrian AMA (Agrarmarkt Austria) want to stimulate pupils to eat more fruit and vegetables with a new 'fruit suitcase'. The fruit suitcase, which can be ordered via schools from the web-shop of AMA offers a lot of material, which may be used during class at school.
From market research by AMA during April this year it became quite clear that children eat less fruit and vegetables and also less at home all the time. Many parents do not want to pressure their children to eat more fruit and vegetables all the time. To eat healthy snacks often happens quicker at the schools and at the after-school care. "Because of this we want to reach the pupils with our new fruit suitcase" Karin Silberbauer, AMA marketing manager for fruit and vegetables says. "The new suitcase contains many tasks. with which one may work and many ideas to be busy with fruit with all senses. The parcel of material was especially developed for primary schools. In order to make learning really nice the suitcase also contains a quiz, funny fruit riddles, colouring and to-be-put-together pictures, but also fruit balloons, stamps, grids and stickers for the entire class" as per Silberbauer.
