Celanese invites attendees of Drinktec to experience Qorus™, a novel sweetener system designed to bring authentic taste profiles to reduced calorie beverages (Hall B1, stand 345). An innovation from Nutrinova, the food ingredients business of Celanese, Qorus enables beverage makers to balance sweetness and flavor while masking off-notes – ultimately delighting consumers.
If sweet could be simple, what would you create? “We asked our customers to tell us about the formulation process for reduced calorie beverages. They discussed the difficulty in blending various sweeteners and flavors to achieve the desired taste profile and the time involved in the many iterations,” said Diana Peninger, vice president and general manager of Celanese food ingredients business. “With Qorus, sweet really is simple and formulators can innovate products without taste limitations.” Qorus is also a versatile system that functions in a large variety of processing conditions.
The first products in the Qorus portfolio, called Qorus Dolce, are intended for use in reduced and no-calorie beverages and dairy products such as milk and yogurt. The Qorus Dolce 1000/1100 line is designed for 30-70% sugar reduction while the 2000/2100 line is intended for 50-100% sugar reduction in carbonated and still beverages, flavored waters, energy drinks, juice-based drinks and more.
Nutrinova also offers Sunett® acesulfame potassium (Ace-K) high-intensity sweeteners for a variety for end uses including confectionaries, gum, ice cream, beverages and more. There is also a line of potassium sorbate and sorbic acid products to protect against molds, yeast and many bacteria in products with high water content.
Visitors can learn more about Qorus and sample it in a variety of beverages by visiting Nutrinova at Hall B1, stand 345 at Drinktec Sept. 16-20. Additionally, find more information online at Qorus.celanese.com.
