Pricesmart Inc.’s net sales in August increased 15.5 percent compared with sales in August 2012, the company reported recently.
Also, the San Diego-based operator of club warehouse stores in Latin America and the Caribbean saw its net sales for its fiscal year, which ended Aug. 31, increase 12 percent to $2.24 billion. The company had 31 warehouse clubs operating at the end of August, having added two stores since August 2012.
For the five weeks ended Sept. 1, warehouse sales for the 29 warehouse clubs open at least 13.5 months increased 9.4 percent compared with the same five-week period last year. For the 52-week period ended Sept. 1, comparable warehouse sales increased 9 percent compared with the same 52-week period last year.
