Thanks to the new agreement, Vivai Dal Pane is the exclusive dealer in Italy for this variety, whereas Summerfruit (owned by Dal Pane) can sign contracts with producers for its development.
Dorì yellow kiwis (ex AC 1536), created by the Universities of Bologna and Udine and of which Summerfruit owns using rights, were also displayed at the stand at Macfrut 2013.

Dorì is the first yellow kiwi than can be harvested in all the productive areas of the Northern hemisphere in September and in the Southern hemisphere in February-March.
Finally, as regards the freeze problems in Chile, Giampaolo Dal Pane, who also owns a branch there, reports: "The situation is serious, as the most productive kiwi and cherry areas of the country have been hit. The Chilean industry hasn't suffered such a hit in ten years - not even the earthquake in 2010 caused such damage. Temperatures reached 4,5-5 grades below zero and plants only had 5-10 cm of new growth."
