Global spirits company Beam has completed the sale of its bottling plant in Lewiston, Maine, US, to a subsidiary of New Orleans-based Sazerac Co, for an undisclosed amount.
The latest sale comprises the building, land and equipment.
Beam assumed the ownership of the facility in April 2012, when it acquired Pinnacle Vodka from White Rock Distillery.
In January 2013, the company announced its plans to improve the productivity of US bottling operations and eventually transfer bottling of Pinnacle Vodka and Calico Jack Rum from Maine to Kentucky.
Sazerac president and CEO Mark Brown said that the company is pleased to be able to add the Lewiston plant to its operations footprint.
"With an experienced team who knows how to create the finest spirits, coupled with the right size and equipment and a good working knowledge of the brands we acquired from White Rock two years ago, we are looking forward to adding production volume back to the plant," Brown added.
Beam will lease the plant back from Sazerac Co at least through Q1 2014 following the completion of the transition of Pinnacle Vodka and Calico Jack Rum into its Frankfort, Kentucky facility.
