Asda, a UK-based retailer, is recalling all packs of its own-brand ground almonds, as they contain traces of peanuts which is not mentioned on the labeling, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said.

The product being withdrawn is Asda Chosen By You Ground Almonds of 150g. All date codes of the product are affected in the recall.

It poses a possible health risk to people intolerant to peanuts. No other Asda products are known to be affected.

Those who have purchased the product have been advised not to eat it and instead return it to the store for a full refund.

Asda has withdrawn the product from sale and displayed customer notices in stores, explaining to customers the reason behind the recall.

In addition, it will contact the relevant allergy support organizations, which will inform their members about the withdrawal.
