Kroger Co. said Friday its workers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area have ratified a new labor agreement with the company.
The 3-1/2-year contract with United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1000 covers 9,450 employees at 92 stores. It was ratified by an 87% majority, according to a statement on the website of the union local.
Terms of the pact were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to reach an agreement that provides our associates a solid compensation package of pay and benefits, including affordable health care and pension for retirement," said Bill Breetz, president of Kroger's Southwest Division, in a statement. "This agreement is the outcome of thoughtful, respectful and productive work by both the company and union representatives. I want to thank our associates for supporting this agreement, as well as for the excellent service they provide every day to our customers and company."
