Peco Foods, a US-based poultry processor, has outlined plans to construct $120m poultry processing facility in Pocahontas, Randolph County, alongside a $20m hatchery and truck shop.
The plant is expected to become operational by January 2016 and employ around 300 people.
Peco Foods will also construct a $36m feed mill facility approximately 30 miles northeast of the other poultry plants, in Corning.
The feed mill facility, which will become operational ahead of the processing plant, is expected to employ 40 people initially.
Peco Foods operates as an integrated poultry processing and packaging company. It grows, processes, markets, and exports poultry products to retail-grocer and food-service markets in the US.
The company specializes in boneless breast products.
