Bemis Company, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has elected William F. Austen to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Austen previously served as Group President of Bemis Company.

His solid business skills and global experience will be a great advantage to Bemis as we continue to bring new technologies and products to the variety of markets and geographies that we serve across our global business.”
William Austen has held the position of Group President since 2012, and has been responsible for operations in the United States, Latin America, and Asia. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations at Bemis Company, a position he held since May 2004. He joined Bemis Company in 2000 as President of Bemis Company’s MACtac Division. Prior to joining Bemis, he held leadership positions at various manufacturing operations of General Electric Company, where he worked for 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in marine engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College and his master’s degree in engineering administration from George Washington University.
