McAlister's Deli, a US-based fast casual restaurant chain, has entered into an agreement with Texas-based franchisee Southwest Deli for the development of 24 restaurants in Texas, New Mexico, Idaho and Utah.
As part of the deal, Southwest Deli will develop restaurants in four states to ensure continued growth in Texas and New Mexico as well as new territories in Idaho and Utah.
It will open restaurants in Abilene, Andrews and San Antonio, Texas; as well as Carlsbad, New Mexico; in the first quarter of 2014. Four additional locations are also planned in late 2014.
Southwest Deli owner Larry Lee said that this agreement represents the company's long-term commitment to McAlister's brand by expanding its presence in the new and existing markets.
"Our future growth will create approximately 1,200 jobs throughout these local communities and also gives us an opportunity to bring McAlister's great food and genuine hospitality to more locations," Lee added.
Established in 1989, McAlister's offers sandwiches, spuds, soups, salads, desserts and McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea. It has more than 320 restaurants in 24 states.
