Church & Dwight is set to add a new production line at its manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania to expand its gummy vitamin production capacity.
Work on the $55m project is scheduled to commence in January 2014. The line is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2015, and it will employ approximately 180 people.
The company stated that it will continue to produce gummy vitamins at its two facilities in the State of Washington.
Church & Dwight chairman and CEO James R Craigie said that this investment will expand the company's production capacity by 75% and will help to drive its long-term goals for revenue and earnings growth.
"The gummy vitamin business is strategically important to Church & Dwight and is expected to be a significant contributor to the future growth of sales, earnings, and cash flows," Craigie added.
Church & Dwight manufactures and markets various personal care, household and specialty products under the Arm & Hammer brand and other well-known trademarks.
