Hershey India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hershey, is set to introduce Jolly Rancher, a North American sweets brand, in India.
The launch is part of Hershey's global growth vision to achieve $10bn in annual revenue by 2017.
With this development, India will be the first international market for the Jolly Rancher brand outside of North America in its history of 65 years.
The brand is known for a unique combination of sweet and tart fruity flavors. Jolly Rancher Lollipops will be the first product to be launched in India.
These lollipops will come in three flavors, including Green Apple, Watermelon and Mango, and will be priced at INR5. The product is being manufactured in the company's Chittoor plant in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Hershey India Sweets and Refreshments Marketing general manager Atul Razdan said, "We've tailored our new Jolly Rancher products for India to appeal, specifically, to local palates with bold, fruity flavors that are unlike any other candy available in the market."
