The new facility offers courses for everybody: From DIY store employees to professional craftsmen. The seminars focus on the correct use and practical application of wallpaper pastes (Metylan), assembly adhesives (Pattex), facade building products (Ceresit) and, above all, tile adhesives (Cimsec).
The new 220-square-meter training center has been built to the latest technical standards and has now been inaugurated. Additional courses are regularly held at Henkel’s Cimsec plant in Ebensee (where tile adhesives, grouting compounds and colored grouts are manufactured), and sessions are also staged locally in DIY stores. “Around 1,300 people attend well over 100 training seminars that we organize each year in Austria,” says Diethardt Lang, Managing Director Adhesive Technologies Austria.s
Tiling and stove-building apprentices from all over Austria can put their skills to the test and win great prizes. Since it was established, 7,650 apprentices have entered this competition in the various federal states, with a total of 600 champions at state level. More than 1,000 specialist presentations have been prepared to assist young tilers and stove-builders in developing their practical and creative skills.
“We have always placed great emphasis on vocational training and continuing education,” says Lang. “And the new training center in Vienna will also help us to interact with our customers even better, so we can offer them the innovations and services that they expect from us. We are convinced that the more our customers know, the more they will be able to achieve. The Henkel Training Center was built to give them a place where acquiring that knowledge and the related practical skills is easy and fun.”
