Amcor says the liner features a blend of moisture barrier, mineral oil barrier and breathability that focus on food protection, environmental awareness and cost effectiveness.
Independent studies have shown that products packed with an internal barrier are less exposed to mineral oil residuals than those packed in alternative solutions, says Amcor.
The firm has invested in new technologies, with this launch the outcome of five years of research to update the original Vodex, widely used by cereals and dry food producers in Western Europe.
Amy Byrick, vice president Amcor Flexibles Europe & America’s, food & beverage, said: “A barrier liner such as Amcor Vodex, directly next to the food, helps protect it from external sources of contaminant which is a significant advantage over the use of virgin carton board alone.”
