Pakistan's pulses import shot up to $3.114 million during July-October 2013-14, which is higher by 221.36 percent, official statistics say.
Pulses import stood at $969 million in July-October 2012-13, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said. Pulses import in term of volume also surged by 2,418 metric tons or 201.16 percent to 3,620 metric tons in July-October 2013-14 from 1,202 metric tons in the same period last fiscal year, according to the PBS.
However, the PBS does not mention the import figures of pulses for October 2013 and October 2012, showing nil in the statistics.
