Louis Dreyfus, a French multinational conglomerate, has agreed to acquire two Brazilian corn processing plants from the local firm Kowalski Alimentos.
Financial terms of the deal have been not disclosed.

The two facilities to be acquired are situated in the states of Parana and Goias.
Corn production in Brazil has significantly increased since US has seen drought in its grain belt, which consequently led to high prices.
In October, Louis Dreyfus' Swiss subsidiary Louis Dreyfus Commodities Suisse signed an agreement with Brooklyn Kiev to establish a joint venture for the development of a grain terminal in Odessa, Ukraine.
The terminal will have a total grain storage capacity of about 240,000 tons when all stages of development are complete.
