US-based Domaine Drouhin has acquired picturesque Roserock vineyard for an undisclosed amount, in a move to double its estate vineyard capacity.
Located in Oregon, the 279-acre vineyard site includes 122 planted acres, of which 111 to plant Pinot Noir, and the remaining 11 to plant Chardonnay, alongside an additional 80 plantable acres.
Commenting on the transaction, Maison Joseph Drouhin president Frédéric Drouhin said they will continue to invest in Burgundy.
"But it is getting difficult to buy something of Roserock's size in Burgundy, and we think it will be harder to do so in Oregon soon," Frédéric added.
The company is also planning to vinify various blocks of the new vineyard in order to manage its production.
