PDC InternaPDC Internationaltional Corp. has introduced a shrink banding system with a tooling and product handling package used initially for oysters and envisioned for fresh produce as well.

The PDC model 75C-E shrink bander and sealer was developed for the shellfish and produce industries to handle irregular shapes and sizes.

“The shrink banding system can be used for any produce items, ideally ones that are more fragile than others,” said Kayla Brashear, spokeswoman for Norwalk, Conn.-based PDC International.

The technology handles sleeving material through feeding, cutting and application.

The 75C-E has a touch screen operator interface, static eliminator, and a sensors and verification package.
