UK-based Pera Technology has developed a new refrigeration technology known as V-Tex, which has the ability to cool drinks by consuming less energy.
Developed under the Rapidcool project consortium which was headed by Enviro-cool and the company, the new technology employs a unique spin cycle to achieve optimum cooling.
The V-Tex has the ability to cool a standard 350ml can of drink in just 45 seconds, the company claims.
Commenting on the technology, Pera Technology project manager Paul Tattersall said that the energy consumed by commercial refrigerators and freezers is quite staggering.
Enviro-Cool founder Kelvin Hall said, "Enviro-Cool was launched in 2007 with the specific aim of developing a low energy, rapid cooling device for pre-packed beverages.
"The development grant and consortium was integral in the realization of V-Tex. We're now looking forward to realizing the potential of this innovative technology, beginning with applying its potential to the domestic market."
Vending marketing trgovina, Storitve, Marketing, Instalaciones dymtec, and Re/gent are the other partners who were part of the Rapidcool project consortium.
