Australian meat snack firm Mariani Foods has purchased Yorkshire food maker Bare Earth for an undisclosed sum.
The company said it will combine the acquired entity into its operations and rename the whole unit as New World Foods (Europe), as part of its 2014 market growth strategy.
New World Foods (Europe) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mariani Foods and will be managed independently to cater to the UK and European markets.
The acquisition includes a factory in Yorkshire, which will allow the combined entity to provide UK produced Beef Jerky and Biltong.
Mariani Foods managing director Don Nisbet said, " This is an exciting time for New World Foods, we have successfully acquired the assets from Bare Earth that will allow us to offer British made biltong and jerky, something that means a lot to the consumers we've spoken to over the years."
Bare Earth, which produces various dried meat products such as beef jerky, has entered into administration earlier this year after it lost contracts with two major retailers.
The P&A Partnership appointed Gareth Rusling and Chris White as joint administrators of the firm and divested the food firm to Mariani Foods Europe.
Rusling said, "Bare Earth's products are a familiar brand in the UK and are recognised for producing a quality, healthy alternative meat snack.
"This deal will enable the brand to grow again and, most importantly, everyone in the business has been able to keep their job."
Headquartered in New South Wales, Australia, Mariani Foods entered into the UK market in 2012 and supplies beef jerky products to retailers across the country.
New World Foods' jerky range includes: Original Beef Jerky, Bulgogi Beef Jerky, Nice 'N' Spicy Beef Jerky and Hot Chilli Beef Jerky.
